Did She just Say That???

Hi!
Guess what.
My new book is coming out next month!
Here's a sneak peek at the draft of the cover!

Ohhh, the content of this sequel is even better than the first one. Really! And why shouldn't it be? My level of understanding and love for humanity deepens each day of my life. I'm proud of the person I am becoming, and it means so much to me to share it through these quirky characters.
Preorders coming soon!
And guess what else?
I'm NOT going to sell my house in Copper Harbor. Whew!
That's a relief because I probably would have regretted it. But I still need to buy a house.
On that note, I just started a weekend waitressing job, and I'm taking more shifts at the school. I absolutely looooooove being in a sea of people, and it creates a balance between this screen, which all of my writing/creating jobs keep me at.
But here's what punched me in the guts.
I have realized, for the first time in my life, how much my time is worth. I am talented. I am passionate. And yet I spend hours each week putting out content for free.
Once I found myself taking on other jobs to be able to buy a house, I realized I can't currently sustain my time at no cost. Really though, why should any one be expected to do that when they need to spend their time on things that help support their family financially? Having disposable income would put me in a different situation.
That will be me someday, I'm sure of it.
But for now, I have to redirect my priorities. I need to take a break from this blog and my podcast. They are both things that take time, energy and lots of creative energy. I do not charge for those things, but please remember that tips and Patreon are a great way to show your support anytime.
With that notion, I'd like to give great appreacation to one reader who has become a friend. He contributes a tip to every episode of my podcast. Every episode! That has sustained my energy for it this far. So thank you, Michael, for your unwavering support. If I had one thousand, one hundred or even ten more people like Michael, I would have enough revenue to support a team to work with me and free up my time for the creative aspects -- not every single detail that needs to get done running my businesses.
Even as my content has evolved over the years, Michael finds value in all my creations. He truly believes in me, and he is lucky to be able to show his support in that way.
So to Michael, and all the other "Michaels" out there who support creative pioneers of their niches, thank you. You make more of a difference than you know. Tell all your friends. Ha ha!
Though I'm taking a break, I'm not gone forever. I'll just show up less often. I can't have this be a deadline from the good of my heart when I need to show up for my family. We are all in this together, and everyone needs to win.
I'll let you know when the next book is out. You'll know about that!
Until then, here is the latest podcast episode with Babette Jokela. She is helping me find our next house! You'll love her take on the Keweenaw realty scene. Not to mention... she survived a heart attack while working at the post office in Copper Harbor. I'm so pleased to be able to share her story. Listen to it here.
I do have one more podcast interview coming out in May. And I plan to do a solo episode for the first Tuesday in June. Besides that, we'll see if anything happens to change my mind about a break. What I really need is to hire someone to edit each episode and the xml feed. Nobody should have to do that for free (not even me!), so if I can generate more income, we can make that happen. I'll keep you posted.
If this sounds like the job for you, let's be in touch. Wink!
Thanks for being on this journey with me so far. It's not over. It's evolving. I started writing this post before 10am and with all the other things throughout my day, I finally got to publish it 7 hours later. It's time for a new focus.
I hope you think you are worthy of prioritizing your life too. Xoxoxo.
